What's behind the Nevro claims?
Nevro's HF10 spinal cord stimulator is an implanted device marketed to manage chronic pain by delivering electrical pulses along the spine. Lawsuits filed against Nevro allege the device is defectively designed and was improperly programmed by sales representatives who lacked adequate medical training, and that the company overstated its safety and effectiveness in marketing materials.
Plaintiffs allege the device can overstimulate the vagus nerve — which helps regulate heart rhythm, digestion, and other involuntary body functions — leading to complications such as irregular heartbeat, bowel dysfunction, and incontinence. Cases are currently proceeding individually in federal court while plaintiffs seek to have them formally consolidated for coordinated pretrial handling.
Who this may affect
- Implanted with a Nevro HF10 (or similar Nevro) spinal cord stimulator system
- Later experienced heart rhythm problems, bowel or digestive dysfunction, incontinence, or other unexpected complications
- Required additional surgery, device removal, or ongoing medical treatment related to the implant

Where things stand
Multiple Nevro spinal cord stimulator lawsuits have been filed in federal court, including a group of cases brought simultaneously in the Northern District of California, and plaintiffs' attorneys have asked the federal judicial panel to formally consolidate the growing number of cases. The litigation is still in its early stages, with lawyers continuing to investigate and file new claims. Because early litigation can move quickly once a device gets more attention, a free eligibility review is the fastest way to find out what may apply to your situation.
